Harvard licenses nanotech patents    

Harvard University has licensed patents relating to nanotechnology to a startup company called Nano-Terra. It is considered by experts to be the biggest existing nanotechnology patent portfolio.  The license includes more than fifty patents and applications relating to nanotechnology. The details of the licensing deal have not been disclosed.

Xandros Linux collaborates with Microsoft

Xandros Linux and Microsoft have entered into a collaboration agreement  after Microsoft announced that various components of Linux violate 235 patents owned by it. The objective of the agreement is to avoid patent liability of customers of Xandros Linux to Microsoft. Novell entered into a similar agreement with Microsoft in May, 2007. Financial details of the collaboration agreement have not been disclosed.

Patent infringement suit against Dabur

Sanofi Aventis and Debiopharm have filed a patent infringement suit against Dabur. The companies have alleged that Dabur's New Drug Application (NDA) over Oxaliplatin violates their patents. The drug is used in the treatment of bowel cancer.
