Injunction against Palm denied

After settling a patent infringement suit with RIM for 612.5 million dollars, NTP has now filed a patent infringement suit against Palm.


Standards and Patent Policy

The International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC), the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) have agreed upon a policy relating to patents in international standards.  


Vonage held liable for patent infringement  

Verizon filed a suit against Vonage alleging that Vonage's technology to connect phones from its Internet Protocol service to traditional phone networks and other activities violate patents held by Verizon.


Blockbuster sued for patent infringement  

Netflix has recently obtained two patents on business methods. One relates to the selection, delivery and return process and the other refers to the no-late-fees policy and the way in which clients can alter their movie lists.


 
 
 
 
 

 PATENT GRANTS IN THE MONTH OF FEBRUARY  2007

 

Silverbrook Research secured first place in the patent race 

 

The Indian Patent Office granted 844 patents in the month of February 2007. The table below shows the top twelve companies that received patent grants. Silverbrook tops the list with 55 patents, followed by Samsung and Aloys Wobben with 46 and 45 patents respectively.
