Toshiba and Lexor Settle

Toshiba settled all litigation with Lexor, which was recently acquired by Micron by paying 288 million dollars and by taking a license over all patents relating to NAND flash technology.

Sterlite, an optical fibre manufacturing company based out of Aurangabad, Maharastra, recently acquired three patents relating to optical fiber inventions at the State Intellectual Property Office of the People's Republic of China.

CSIR leads the patent race in August

The Indian Patent Office granted 216 patents in August, 2006. The table below shows the top twelve companies that received patent grants. CSIR tops the list with 47 patents, followed by Emhart Glass S.A., A Swiss Corporation and Motorola with 11 and 7 patents respectively.
