Tivo and IBM entered into a cross
license deal in which a non-exclusive and world wide
license was granted over patents and patent applications
by each party to the other party.
Transmeta, a Company that develops and
sells software-based microprocessors, sued Intel for
infringing ten patents covering computer architecture and
power efficiency technologies.
As per the Japanese Patent Law a
company has to compensate its employees who come up with
inventions that are protected as patents adequately in
proportion to the profits made by the company.
The Indian Patent Office granted 160 patents in September, 2006.

patent grants. CSIR tops the list with 38 patents, followed by
P&G and ACME Tele Power with 4 and 3 patents respectively.
